Julie is reading to set down back in the D, Liz is bound to make her way back into Detroit, Doner is looking to refresh their media department, GM hasn't sold off anything or declared Chapter 11...there's so much to stay on top of.
DMG, say it ain't so!!?!! This isn't your "goodbye?"
I (for one!) shall miss this site as much as any other - apart from my own "blog" which is also here on the internet.
DMG, I only wish we had met in person so that I might know the answer to the question, "who was that masked man?" as it were.
Ah me, the pratfalls and vicissitudes of life are nothing if not bothersome, and this more than most.
I would encourage you to reconsider and bring back your wonted (and wanted!) wit, wisdom, and so forth to the topics which you so masterfully addressed.
Still, if you are determined to depart this blogging life, there is but one thing I would add:
While it may be a bit unseemly to comment on my own comment, I notice that I neglected to include a link to my own blog, even though I had mentioned its existence out here in cyberspace, and want to remedy that oversight.
Although not focused on Detroit, nor exclusively on the Media aspect of marketing, many (if not all!) of DMG's loyal readers may well enjoy my own blog (and reap its benefits!) which can be found at jaystandish.blogspot.comI look forward to meeting many of you there - Excelsior!
Oh great - DMG is striking out in a desperate bid for sympathy and praise. "I'm quitting this blog unless you guys all can convince me that I need to stay." Listen DMG, we've all enjoyed this site. Hell, I've even enjoyed some of the comments posted to your entries; mostly my own, but there were a few others, not that Standish chump who thinks he's hip and all when he's really just another oldster pretending to be involved in today's technology and ideas but is really nothing but a poseur. Anyway, I'm pretty sure that DMG will be back as soon as he realizes that he needs the strokes and income from this blog to pay for his chardonnay and stogies to enjoy while his underlings work under the cracking of his ad whip to keep the clients happy so they'll stay with the agency so he can keep his palatial estate in the high rent burbs where his driver takes him home and picks him up every day. Anyway, now that Kwanzaa Kilpatrick is out of town, DMG seems to think he's king of the town and wants us all to tell him how much we need him. Look, this is a decent forum and all, but I can find plenty of places to explain the real and now facts of media analysis, research, and Excel files to the few oldsters still hanging on in Detroit, so if you do shut this all down it's no big loss to me, but the couple people who read this blog will have to search to find where I'm explaining it all after this isn't here any more. Don't make this last forever, DMG, let us all know if you're back or not - will you stay or will you go, chump?
