Google wants to eat your young ...

One more glaring example of Google's insatiable appetite to rule the world ... Google+ ... or, simply, Googlezilla.

In the fine print of Google+ social network sign-on ...

"By submitting, posting or displaying the content you give Google a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, and non-exclusive license to reproduce, adapt, modify, translate, publish, publicly perform, publicly display and distribute any Content which you submit, post or display on or through, the Services."

Really? Google? ... I give up the right to everything? ... because I use your service?

... pretty obvious I guess ...

...and Facebook wants to eat your unborn. With 80K sites already implement w/ Facebook Connect and all of the access consumers are granting to apps, sites, etc. (through FB, Twitter, 4sq) our data is no longer our own. Unless you want to experience the web in a single-user dimension by offerring up only the minimal amount of reg data, this will become the norm. How long before a backlash or crackdown? Only time will tell.

Me? I'm riding the wave of this pig....for now. In 2 years, I'll be trying to break into print sales or network cable.

...add a line item to that Yahoo I.O......oh wait, I mean, that Google I.O.......

Oh great, another ill-informed, mis-informed, dis-informing post by the great dmg attacking his bete-noir of Google.

If you stopped to read what it says and think about what you're asking them to do, it's obvious that without your license to publish the stuff you post on their site, they can't put it on the screens of the rest of the Google+ users.

You haven't given up the right to anything, you've only granted them the right to do what you asked them to without making them pay you to do it. Read the words, bub!

It looks like you've got a bunch of other Luddite oldsters who think that these new-fangled websites are trying to steal the fruits of their labor so they can sell it to the highest bidder, when it's actually the opposite - these companies are offering you a service at no charge and you expect them to jump at your slightest whim and dance to the tune you call without paying the piper for his work.

Someone has to pay for all the bandwidth you're using, chumps!

I don't know about Google so much (you can ask my teammate Gyro about that), but I'm pretty sure that Vitamin Water - or their ad agency - wants to eat your cell phone and iPod data.
